The church with the warm heart

Missions

Our objective through Missions is that ALL members, according to their gifts, will joyfully serve the Lord by actively participating in church-sponsored community mission activities, in volunteering outside our walls, or by commitment to/involvement in global missions outreach efforts such as international mission trips, support missionaries, or direct service to international agencies.  Here are our 2012 Missions plans.

"Join us in an ongoing mission to Serve and Share Jesus!"

Missions and other Opportunities

GIVING TO SUPPORT MISSIONS:  Each month, we select a Mission of the Month that you can give funds to support.  Each of these monthly missions only receives what is specifically designated for them.  To support the Mission of the Month, simply make your check payable to Aldersgate, and put MOM in the memo line.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE:  Opportunities to sign up and help serve with some of our ongoing missions are posted on the Missions bulletin board across from the main office.  This is a good place to connect with various missions such as the Salvation Army Food Truck, HAP Food Collection, Meals on Wheels, etc.

Communion Offering & the Pastor's Discretionary Funds

                           Stewardship—Finance

Throughout the year financial gifts received during the Communion Services are deposited in Aldersgate's Discretionary Fund.  This fund is used to support the Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP), a local church cooperative which provides emergency financial assistance to those in need in the Huntsville Area.

Your financial gifts to the Discretionary Fund have provided $300 each month to HAP in support of the ministry they provide.  Additionally, the Discretionary Fund is used to provide eyeglasses for children in need of vision correction.  Each pair of eyeglasses cost $100 and your gifts to the Discretionary Fund have provided eyeglasses for 9 children this summer!!

Also, the pastor's have a Pastor's Discretionary Fund from which support is provided to individuals and families, on an as needed basis, and at the discretion of our pastor's.  This year to date, they have provided over $700 to support individuals and families in need of food, gas, rent, and utilities.

Both the Discretionary Fund and the Pastor's Discretionary Fund are in need of your help.  We simply ask that you please prayerfully consider your ability to support theses ministries financially, either through your designated giving or through your gifts.
