What is Aldersgate on the Parkway?
Aldersgate has purchased the former Skate Odyssey building on South Memorial Parkway for use as a worship, youth, and community center. You can keep up with our activities by liking our Facebook page, subscribing to our blog, and/or following us on Twitter. We'd love to see you at worship Sundays at 11:05!
WHen is worship held AT "THE AP"?
We worship at 11:05 AM on Sundays.
Worship music is lead by Dennis Cornelison and 3X Grace.
Each week, one of our four teaching pastors will share a relevant message from God's Word. There is a nursery, and kids' worship is offered during worship for children up to third grade.
What Else happens at "the AP"?
Open Skate Times
Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3-5 PM
Every Second Friday 6-9 PM
Come skate with us! This is a great time to learn to skate, practice your skills, or show off with friends. A suggested donation is $5/skater. Concessions are available.
Preschool Playtime
Every 2nd & 4th Friday
9:30-11:30 AM
Bring the little ones with their riding toys or skates and let them go full throttle on the skate floor or have tons of fun jumping in our bouncy house! Suggested donation is $5/child.
Home School Skate
Every 2nd & 4th Wednesday
12-3 PM
Bring the whole family to skate, play ping-pong, and spend quality time together at our always safe and family-friendly facility. Suggested donation is $5 per skater, but since we love big families, there is $20 cap per family. Pizza and other concessions will be available, so please do not bring outside food or beverages.
Rolling Arsenal of Derby
The Rolling Arsenal of Derby is a roller derby team that meets on Mondays and Thursdays at the rink. They have a women's team and a youth team, the RAD Recruits. According to the website, rollingarsenalofderby.com,"Rolling Arsenal of Derby is a roller derby league that offers positive growth and development for girls and women who are interested in mastering the sport of roller derby." The Dance Club
Every Tuesday night, the skating rink is turned into a dance hall! The Dance Club has been a part of the Huntsville dance scene since 1993. They offer a lesson every Tuesday starting at 7:30 pm, then continue to dance in various styles until 10:15 pm. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
How do I rent the Facility?
Community and church groups are welcome to use our facility for activities of all kinds. There is a sliding scale for fees.
